It's never too late to learn

Plenty of adults never had the chance to learn to read the Quran as children, learned once but forgot, or learned to read without Tajweed. Others have recently embraced Islam and want to start properly. A private lesson means you can ask any question and go at your own speed, without feeling rushed in a group.

What adults usually study

  • Learning to read from scratch: the Noorani Qaida works for adults too, and adults often move through it faster than children.
  • Improving recitation: the Tajweed course focuses on correct articulation and the rules of recitation.
  • Memorizing: build a steady memorization routine, from short surahs upwards.
  • Understanding: study Tafseer or Quranic Arabic to understand the words you recite.

Online Quran classes for sisters

Many sisters prefer to learn with a woman. Female tutors are available for adult women as well as children, so select "Female tutor" in the form. Read more about learning with a female Quran teacher.

Fitting lessons around work

Choose early mornings, lunch breaks, evenings or weekends. Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes depending on your plan, which makes the 30-minute Basic plan a realistic starting point for busy schedules.

Learning together as a family

Parents often learn alongside their children. Each learner has their own one-to-one class at their own level. Choose "More than one learner" when you enquire.

Questions from adult learners

I can't read Arabic at all. Is that okay?

Yes. Many adult learners start with the alphabet. You don't need any prior Arabic.

Will I learn the meaning, or just reading?

That depends on your goal. Reading and Tajweed courses focus on correct recitation; Tafseer and Quranic Arabic focus on meaning. You can combine them.

Can I have a female tutor?

Yes. Female tutors are available. Select it in the form.
